Journal of a blog

I started this site long back in 2005,, when I was too much immersed in the adventures of internet. For me, It was then a trial run of gathering knowledge regarding blogging, hosting, domain names, designing, gaining more site views etc rather than posting content. Over the years and months, I realized blogging is much more and in itself is a world of its own. You get to sew a world with the unknown blogger pals, and commentators, and the passer-by.

I started writing about some personal thoughts and happenings of life. As I got more interested in the online world, some tutorials, and links were being shared, with the infrequent bursts of shayariand senti posts here and there. I was just posting one or two, or rarely, as I didn’t get to think much and did not give much importance to jotting down the thoughts. By 2006 mid year, I got ample time to rant about all the trivial things in my life, May 2007 being the month in which posted maximum. I kept changing the themes to keep alive the designing interest in me, and also tried again at the online link love part too. And now, I am even trying out the ad sense which is, you can call as, the second generation of my blog!!!

The idea of writing about the journey of blogging came from About-meme tag, and was wondering myself what others think of my blog. :P

So what do you think of my blog? or to frame it in different way, what is this blog all about??? :)

Film review - Mozhi….

I had been wanting to see this Tamil film from so long. Everyone said its a good film, but I could watch it only recently. If you ask me the story, its a simple one in which the hero is a jovial guy who falls in love with a dumb and deaf neighbour girl. There is nothing special about it to write an essay on it, but, at some points, you feel you are lifted towards the world of silence. In which only actions speaks; the sign language. The screenplay was good. The ending is easily predictable again, but the way it is portrayed, is different.

The film speaks of the different perspectives of the heroine who is dumb and deaf. It tries to explain what is “Mozhi” (words/speech/talk) in her view, what or how does music sounds to her. Apart from the main character, there are few characters which reveals the essence of revealing out the hidden buried pains in our minds. And how it affects our decisions and minds, in our day-to-day life. It asks us to weep out the pains instead of suppressing all our anguish and sorrows so that our mind is free… Also shown is the moving on in life by some people, though tragedy occurs in their life. To be short, an attempt to portray some trivial things of life… I liked only one song of the film, so music not that outstanding. The story spreads to too many lives of persons and is not complete with respect to one person.

Overall a rating of 6.5 to 7 out of 10.

NB: And the interesting point in this film was the main lead girl’s name was Archana!!! :P

Film review - Chak De India - Oye! Chak de!

It was a pleasant experience watching this film in the big screen of Six degrees theatre at Sathyam Cinemas, last weekend. Shahrukh Khan was rocking and dashing and smashing in this new role of a coach of Indian Women Hockey Team. I guess the reviews are already spread all over internet, mentioning the amazing and superb performance of the girls and SRK n all.

For me, it was a different movie from the usual love soaps. The character was inspirational and motivational to overcome the challenges and difficulties of the life, be it in a hockey team or in our individual lives. It was released at the apt time, when India celebrates its Independence Day. Its the second film of SRK which depicted and enhanced India as whole, the first film being Swades. At some points of the film, I felt the message being portrayed as, Where there is a will, there is a way. The music and background score also was inspiring and matching with the screenplay, though not so rocking. The 16 girls has given an impressive performance, almost most of them are new to the film industry I guess, but you don’t feel that they are new or just actors in the film. They feel like the-girl-next-door and you feel their victory as yours. The ending was easily predictable, but surely, its a one-time watch, and even watchable twice, for the tickling comedy!!

Altogether I would rate this movie an 8.5, though it would reach upto 9, if the second half was intriguing and better.

Special brothers

August month has so much of memories to me. Lot many stories, so many birthdays. Not only August, but almost all months of the year from August has so many birthdays to remember. Apart from that, what makes August special is the famous Raksha bandhan festival, which is celebrated in northern parts of India as a big festival. Its the day when brother - sister relationship is given importance. Its celebrated in south India too, but not that special. For me, I never ever celebrated this, as I did not had any brothers. Mom used to cook special food and all, but apart from that, this had no relevance at all. But from the last year, I have met so many people who match that category of brothers. Those, who have really made me feel what all I have been missing and the kind of advice and care that brothers give to their sisters. And that too, when some are from different caste, it gives really different sense of aerie. Now, after all this months, when the season has come again, the pearls hooked up in some corner of the minds are being washed once more with the waves of memories, imprinting once more…Time passes by and along with them, the contacts too, and some others eventually has replaced the void; to bestow upon me, the advices and scoldings to change me only to find that whatever they are saying has no effect on me. But the good thing is they still keep on repeating and call me up whenever I need them, in spite of their personal and official busy lives!!

This month end, when all will be wishing and tying rakhi to their loving brothers, I am sure I will be thinking of some good old memories and the friends here as usual will be having a tough time to boost me up!! What to do, I want to change myself, but my mind does not allow me!!!

Hmm, poor brothers!!! Just hold on, I am trying my best… ;-) :P

Dear Friends,

August 5th. Everyone is busy wishing “Happy Friendship Day” to each other. I guess all do have friends. At least they think they have. But the importance of friends is known only when we are in crisis. When we need the support and care in the way we wish, we turn to them. For bringing back our minds from the big black hole of thoughts n sorrows and to give meaning to life. Friends to whom you can call when you feel dull, when you need money, when you want advice, when you get bored, when you are too happy or anytime…

There is this blog post by Chandni which entrusts the deep loneliness when we don’t have real friends in life. Life’s indeed boring for each n all, but these small small talks, laughs, jokes, incidents keeps you moving on and on… There has been another article on unthanked people, which reflects the importance of many special people in our lives to whom we should be grateful.

Even in our day-to-day lives, we find such saviors, without whom, we feel devastated. For me, most of such people fall in the category of friends. There are others too, unknown strangers who helps us in various forms of life. We keep remembering them and spread good words about them to all. But the near ones, like family n friends, we take for granted. They too should be thanked; why to leave them unthanked. Friendship is present in every relationship. And in the recent years, I have met few people to whom I owe lot, some who still keep in touch, but some who have lost the contact and some who though have the contact, are too lazy to call each other..

Today when the season is approaching, I wish to thank all the friends who came in my life, taught many things, gave me support, and lots of beautiful memories… Happy friendship day, my friend…
